April 27, 2019 – Tyler Reddick won the NASCAR Xfinity Series Money Lion 300 at Talladega Superspeedway to score his first win of the season and the $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus. Despite a pit road speeding penalty and sustaining damage after contact earlier in the race, Reddick was able to capture his fourth career win. Reddick had to outrun the field in a two-lap shootout to the checkered flag that came after a crash red flagged the race. Jeffrey Earnhardt, Justin Allgaier, Cole Custer and Ryan Sieg were among those involved in the accident. Gray Gaulding finished a career-best second.
April 27, 2013 – Kevin Harvick came from seventh on a green-white-checkered finish to win the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. Juan Pablo Montoya had led 67 laps late in the race until a caution for Denny Hamlin with five laps to go. Montoya and Harvick pitted and restarted sixth and seventh, respectively. Montoya wound up fourth at the checkered flag.
April 27, 2012 – Kurt Busch beat Denny Hamlin to the checkered flag by .062 seconds to win the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 at Richmond Raceway. Busch scored the first-ever NASCAR Xfinity (Nationwide) Series victory to the team owned by his brother, Kyle Busch. The win was Busch’s fourth in the series and his first on a short track. Hamlin came up two feet short after a phenomenal drive from the rear of the field after a pit road mistake.
April 27, 2009 – Mike Skinner was declared the winner of the rain-delayed NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series O’Reilly 250 at Kansas Speedway when wet weather moved into the area again forcing officials to finally pull the plug on the event. Skinner was ahead when the race was finally cut short 35 laps of its scheduled 167 circuits. It was the first win of the season for Skinner and the 26th of his Truck Series career.
April 27, 2008 – Kyle Busch fought back from being one lap down and went on to pick up the checkered flag in the NASCAR Cup Series Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway. Busch powered his Joe Gibbs Racing M&M’s Toyota back on the lead lap at the 177th circuit and then charged to the front. He moved to the top spot on Lap 184 and when a multi-car wreck broke out on the final lap, he had his second win of the season.
April 27, 2003 – Kurt Busch captured the win in the Auto Club 500 at Auto Club (California) Speedway over Bobby Labonte and Rusty Wallace. Busch drove his No. 97 Ford to his second win of the season, snapping the streak of nine different winners in the season’s first nine events.
April 27, 2002 – Scott Riggs stretched his fuel to win the NASCAR Xfinity (Busch) Series Auto Club 300 at Auto Club (California) Speedway. Riggs, who had to start at the rear of the field after changing an engine before the race, led the final 49 laps. The win was his second of the season.
April 27, 1991 – David Green scored his first career NASCAR Xfinity (Busch) Series win in the Nestle 200 at t Lanier Speedway. Green led the final 111 laps and took the checkered flag ahead of Jeff Gordon by 1.6 seconds.
