Driver Notes – Ordered by Average Finish (Top 15) in the Last Five Races at Dover
Chase Elliott is the latest winner at Dover. He’s only finished outside the top five once in six starts and that was a 12th-place finish in this event last year. This year Elliott has one pole (Bristol) and an average finish of 10.5 in the four races with the 750 horsepower rules package.
Martin Truex Jr. finished 15th last fall at Dover to snap a streak of five consecutive top 10s, which includes a win in the 2016 fall race. Truex is tied for the third-best average finish (7.0) in the four races this season with the 750 horsepower rules package. He won the last race with the rules package at Richmond.
Daniel Suarez has yet to finish outside the top 10 in four starts at Dover. Last in this event, he scored his best finish at the 1-mile track, third. Suarez, who has a 6.8 average finish, will be making his first track start as a member of Stewart-Haas Racing. This season, Suarez has posted two top 10s and an average finish of 14.8 in the four races with the 750 horsepower rules package.
Kyle Larson has finished 12th or better in nine of his 10 starts at Dover.
