Pete Pistone’s updated NASCAR Cup Series Power Rankings after the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
1. Kevin Harvick: He paced the field for 40 laps and finished fourth at Texas. Harvick has finished in the top 10 over the last 12 Texas races, the longest streak ever and he did it in career Cup start number 700 on Sunday.

2. Denny Hamlin – All sorts of problems plagued Hamlin in Texas, including a couple of slides through the infield grass. His summer luck remained sour in recent weeks with a 20th-place finish Sunday at Texas.

3. Brad Keselowski – A so so outing for Keselowski, who did lead 15 laps at Texas en route to a ninth-place finish. That’s four top-10 finishes in the last five races for Brad K.

4. Ryan Blaney – He led a race-high 150 laps and by far had the fastest car in the race most all day. But a late caution flag jumbled things up for Blaney and company who were shuffled back in the field and he ended up scoring a seventh-place finish.

5. Aric Almirola – His day started from the pole however without brakes, which Almirola discovered on pace laps. The Stewart-Haas Racing driver was still able to knock down his seventh straight top-10 finish and his fourth consecutive at Texas.

6. Chase Elliott – A mediocre day for Elliott, who ended up finishing 12th on Sunday. He’s finished outside the top 10 in five of the last six races this season.

7. Joey Logano – A better day for Logano than in recent weeks with a third-place Texas finish. That was the Team Penske driver’s only second top-five in the last 14 races run in the 2020 season.

8. Martin Truex Jr. – His day was ruined when Truex Jr. got wiped out in a multi-car crash that sent him out of Texas with a 29th-place finish after he posted a pair of top 10s in the opening two stages.

9. Kyle Busch – He scored his best finish since coming home second at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Busch had a split decision on Saturday when his apparent Xfinity Series win was stripped away by a disqualification in post race tech but he did win that night’s Truck Series race. A top-five Cup run rounded out his Texas weekend.

10. Kurt Busch – It took a lot out of Busch due the extreme conditions in Texas but he was able to steer his Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet home to an eighth-place finish. Busch now has 11 top-10 finishes in the 18 races run in 2020.
