Kansas Pole to Harvick

Starting Lineup

Kevin Harvick captured the pole for Saturday night’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Digital Ally 400 to lead a sweep of the first four positions for Stewart-Haas Racing.

Harvick posted a lap of 30.131 seconds, 179.217 mph for his 28th career pole.

“The whole organization, engine shop, team, you can see a vast improvement across the board from our cars this week,” Harvick said. “It started at Texas. That was the last step on this 550 package for us and we knew we were off at the beginning of the year and they have done nothing but work and work and work and work. This is really a good moment for Stewart-Haas Racing in general. I think that is something to be proud of.”

The lineup will become official following inspection on Saturday. Update: 11 Cars Fail Inspection

Aric Almirola, Clint Bowyer and Daniel Suarez qualified second through fourth, respectively, marking the second time SHR has qualified all cars in the top four. The last time the team accomplished the feat was last fall at Talladega Superspeedway.

“We have really fast race cars,” Almirola said. “Our Ford Mustangs are fast and I like it. It is fun when you show up to the race track and have a lot of speed.”

Qualifying Results

Chase Elliott, who won at Kansas last fall, qualified fifth.

“I thought everything was smooth and our car drove okay, which was fine,” Elliott said. “We’ll see what happens tomorrow.”

Martin Truex Jr., William Byron, Kyle Larson, Brad Keselowski and Alex Bowman rounding out the top 10.

Kyle Busch, who has finished in the top 10 in every race this season, qualified 13th.

Motor Racing Network’s live coverage of Digital Ally 400 will begin at 6:30 p.m ET on Saturday.
