Martin Truex Jr. came from the rear of the field to lead 132 laps and win Monday’s Gander RV 400 at Dover International Speedway.
Truex won for the third time at Dover and the second time on a Monday after rain postponed the race. The last time Truex won on Monday was in 2007 when he scored his first of 21 career wins.
"Man, it feels incredible," Truex Jr. said. "I’m so thankful for this team. What a race car we had today," Truex said after the race. "We have one hell of a team. We came here with a new set-up this time because we kind of had an older set-up than had worked good for several years but it was’t good enough.
"Thanks to all these fans that came out today, on a Monday. It’s just awesome."
Truex Jr. had to start from the rear of the field after his car failed pre-race inspection twice on Sunday.
"I promise it wasn’t easy. It was a lot of work, it was tough," Truex Jr. said after driving the SiriusXM Toyota to the checkered flag. "But this racecar, man, it was incredible."
Alex Bowman, Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott rounded out the top five.
"I’m worn out, this stuff is the hardest race of the year," said Bowman after his second straight second-place finish. "We at least had a shot at it, that’s really all you can ask for." (Read More)
Erik Jones, Joey Logano, William Byron, Clint Bowyer and Kyle Busch completed the first 10 finishers.

What Else Happened: Blue skies and sunshine greeted the day after Sunday’s rain out and the changing track conditions threw a curveball at some teams in terms of handling. As predicted, passing was at a premium and track position important but as rubber laid down on the racing surface it did afford some drivers the opportunity to try different lines around the track. The battle for the second stage checkered flag ultimately won by Truex Jr. provided some of the most exciting racing of the day.
Quotable: "Son of a gun, that hurt," Stenhouse Jr. after slamming the wall when he cut a tire.
Notables: The last time two drivers finished 1-2 after starting in the rear was Talladega in October of 2014 with Brad Keselowski in first and Matt Kenseth in second…Kyle Busch has finished in the top 10 of every race this season tying Morgan Shepherd for the most top-10 finishes to start a season.
