Keselowski’s Foundation Helping Hurricane Relief Efforts

Brad Keselowski’s Checkered Flag Foundation is providing support to first responders in communities affected by Hurricane Florence.

Keselowski’s wife, Paige, is from Eastern North Carolina and had a lot of family and friends that were affected by the storm.

“We’re doing what we can and I don’t think there’s any one person that can do everything but everybody can do a little bit of something,” Keselowski said Friday at Richmond. “I gotta give my wife, Paige, lot of credit. She skipped the race last weekend so she could be there and my family, well Paige’s family which is my family now lives out on the edge. They’re out on the coast area. She’s spent some time out there and came back day before yesterday and kind of gave a download.”

The foundation is selling T-shirts featuring a specially designed “United2Gether” design for $25 and has raised close to $40,000. For every t-shirt purchased, the Keselowski’s will in turn purchase a t-shirt to send to a first responder in the impacted areas.

“Paige and are making some donations as well and matching some donations from our fans,” Keselowski said. “So we’re really proud of that. We are hopeful that will make an impact and help some people that are really in a bad spot. But I gotta get my wife most of the credit. She’s the one making it happen while I’m trying to trying to win races. That’s been going pretty well. But she’s been a real superstar.”

Also, RK Allen Oil Company, based in Talladega, Ala., and the provider of fuel to the jet dryers at Talladega Superspeedway, has graciously donated 8,000 gallons of fuel to be used by first responders in the affected areas. Darlington Raceway, H&L Logging and ALSCO have also jumped on board making contributions to the campaign. Courtesy of their generous donations, and the overwhelming support of fans, BKCFF is able to cover the costs associated with the transportation of fuel to the Jacksonville, N.C., EMS compound.

Finally, Epoch Eyewear is donating one pair of safety-rated sunglasses for every pair of BKCFF sunglasses purchased during the “United2Gether” campaign. The BKCFF sunglasses are available for purchase at www.EpochEyewear.com.
