Big Machine Vodka 400 Lineup | Pit Stall Assignments
The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard has been postponed to Monday due to weather.
The 400-mile race will start at 2 p.m. ET and will follow the NASCAR Xfinity Series Lilly Diabetes 250, which was postponed yesterday to Monday at 10 a.m. ET.
“Once again, we’re very sorry the weather is creating this inconvenience for our loyal fans,” IMS President J. Douglas Boles said. “The forecast looks much better for Monday, and everyone who comes to the Speedway will see 650 miles of exciting NASCAR action all in one day, with a handful of drivers attempting a ‘daily double’ of running in both races.”

Rain has engulfed the Indianapolis area since Friday and it also canceled both qualifying and the practice sessions for both series.
“You’ll only be able to do small adjustments because you don’t want to lose track position, so I think that this is going to be a true testament of which team came prepared the most with the correct set up that’s tried and true and hopefully we hit it right,” said Denny Hamlin, who will start 10th in the Brickyard 400.
Hamlin’s teammate Kyle Busch will start from the pole.
“It’s really good for us to be able to start on the pole,” Busch said. “We qualified on the pole here last year I believe it was, so being able to get out front and get out in that clean air, obviously it helps you, helps your day. When you’re out there though you’re kind of in clean air. You’re racing yourself essentially and time, but also when you get back in traffic later on in the event, you still have to have a good handling race car.”
This is the first time the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard has been delayed a day by rain in the race’s 25-year history.
