Alex Bowman looks like he might be getting an “88” tattoo in the near future thanks to a bet he made in Daytona and his win in Sunday’s Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway.
The bet was made with one of his good friends Aaron Gillespie, who is a drummer in the band Underoath.
“Pretty much everybody from Underoath was at Daytona,” Bowman said. “We made a bet that if I won, we were getting 88 tattoos, and then it just never stopped. We’ve been talking about it for the last two weeks. Apparently I have to get a neck tattoo, which I’m not really sure that that’s going to happen or not, but yeah, next time we’re all together, I guess we’re all going to get tattoos.”
Bowman won the Auto Club 400 in dominating fashion, leading 110 laps and taking the checkered flag by 8.9 seconds over Kyle Busch.
