A number of drivers will be looking to extend a streak of winning a race during the NASCAR Cup Series season in 2020.
Thirteen drivers won at least one race in 2019 and four will be attempting to push the consecutive season streak to two in 2020.
Reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch leads all drivers with a 15-year streak of winning at least one race that dates back to his rookie season in 2005.
Busch won five times in 2019, including the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway that gave him his second championship. His 56 career wins ranks ninth all time. Busch has 11 multiple race winning seasons since 2005.
Kevin Harvick has won at least one race since 2010 with nine of them being multiple race winning seasons. Harvick won four times in 2019 to push his career total to 49, which ties him with Tony Stewart for 14th on the all-time list. Harvick also brings a streak of three consecutive top fives to close the 2019 season into 2020.
Brad Keselowski has won at least three races in seven of the last nine years during his streak with the remaining three resulting in one win each. Keselowski has won three races in each of the last three seasons and has 30 career wins.
Joey Logano has scored 22 of his 23 career wins during his eight year consecutive winning streak. The last 21 wins have come with Team Penske.
Kurt Busch won at Kentucky Speedway with Chip Ganassi Racing – his 31st career win – to extend his season win streak to six. All of Busch’s previous wins (6) during his streak came with Stewart-Haas Racing.
Martin Truex Jr. has scored 24 of his 26 career wins during his five year consecutive winning streak. Truex has won at least four races in the last four seasons and made seven trips to Victory Lane in 2019 in his first year driving the No. 19 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. Only his teammate Kyle Busch has won more races (27) in the last five years.
Ryan Blaney has won one race in each of the last three seasons. His 2019 win came at Talladega Superspeedway in the sixth closest finish (0.007 margin of victory). The 2020 season will mark Blaney’s third full-time season with Team Penske.
Chase Elliott has won three races in each of the last two seasons. He led a season career-high 601 laps in 2019 that included his dominating performance at Watkins Glen International.
Erik Jones won the 2019 Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway to push his consecutive season win streak to two. He also posted a season career-high 10 top fives in 2019.
Three full-time Cup Series drivers will be looking to extend their winning streak to two years in 2020. Denny Hamlin, who scored six wins in 2019, is seeking to get things started again after his 12 consecutive year win streak was snapped in 2018. The 2018 season is Hamlin’s only winless season since he started racing full-time in the Cup Series. Kyle Larson also went winless in 2018, but ended his 75-race streak with a win at Dover International Speedway in the 2019 playoffs. Alex Bowman scored his first career Cup win at Chicagoland Speedway in 2019 after finishing second in three consecutive races the month prior. Justin Haley, who competed in three Cup races last year for Spire Motorsports, recorded his first career win in the rain-shortened race at Daytona International Speedway in July.
