Denny Hamlin has finished seventh or better in the last five races at Chicagoland, including a win in 2015. This season, Hamlin has posted an average finish of 11.0 in the four races at 1.5-mile tracks this season with the 550 horsepower/aero ducts rules package. Excluding Talladega, Hamlin has a 9.9 average finish in eight races with 550 horsepower.
Joey Logano has finished eighth or better in the last five races at Chicagoland, including a runner-up finish in 2016. Excluding Talladega, Logano has the second-best average finish (8.5) in the eight races with 550 horsepower. He won at Michigan earlier this month and at Las Vegas in March. His Vegas win is one of two top fives in the four races at 1.5-mile tracks with the 550/aero ducts rules package.
Brad Keselowski leads all drivers with eight consecutive top 10s at Chicagoland that includes two wins (2012 and 2014). Martin Truex Jr. leads all drivers with a 2.0 average finish in the last three races at Chicagoland, which includes two wins. Truex won last weekend at Sonoma and is the most recent winner at a 1.5-mile track with his victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Truex finished second at Atlanta, a track with an old surface like Chicagoland, in February with the 550 horsepower rules package, but with no aero ducts.
Kyle Larson has finished seventh or better in four of his five starts at Chicagoland, including a runner-up finish last season. Larson, who ranks second in stage points earned at Chicagoland, saw his only top 10 on a 1.5-mile track this season come at Kansas Speedway.
