Larson Dominates Food City 300

Race Results

Kyle Larson dominated Friday night’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Food City 300 to score his first Bristol Motor Speedway win.

Larson swept the stages and led 202 of the 310 laps en route to his fourth win in six series starts this season. He held off Justin Allgaier and Christopher Bell in an overtime finish.

“I’ve been close so many times and it’s my best race track by far, I feel like,” Larson said. “Hopefully we can get another tomorrow night and that would be really special.”

Larson will start from the pole in Saturday night’s Monster Energy Cup Series race.

Bell, who led 18 laps, got around Allgaier on the final lap to finish second.

“I was a little bit tight all race long and then that run whenever I led a little bit and me and (Kyle) Larson were really close, I told him I might’ve been a little bit too loose and then he tightened me up and I got too tight again,” Bell said. “Just got to do a little bit better job of guiding him. Overall really happy with second.”

Cole Custer and Joey Logano rounded out the top five.

Bell leads the point standings by 13 points over Allgaier. Standings

Pole-sitter Kyle Busch led the opening 69 laps but was forced to the garage with damage after an upper arm failure in the right-front tire.

“The rubber build up that was happening – I just got into the corner a little too hot and just got up into the fence a little bit and then I don’t know, two or three laps later it blew out,” Busch said.

The eighth and final caution flag that set up the overtime finish was brought out by Daniel Hemric on Lap 298.
