April 4, 2014 – Chase Elliott captured his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series win in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Elliott passed Kevin Harvick with 16 laps to go and went on to score his first of three wins during his 2014 championship-winning season.

April 4, 2009 – Kyle Busch scored his third of five straight wins at Texas Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in the O’Reilly 300. Busch led 178 of the 200 laps and took the victory over Tony Stewart.

April 4, 2005 – Kevin Harvick survived a green-white-checkered finish and held off Jeff Burton to win the rain-delayed Sharpie Professional 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Harvick and Burton gave Richard Childress Racing a 1-2 finish on that Monday as well as a sweep of the weekend’s racing at Bristol after Harvick won the Food City 500. The overtime session was set-up when Shane Hmiel made contact and spun Dale Jarrett with three laps to go, which brought out the red flag. Jarrett walked to Hmiel’s car and exchanged words with the young driver before being led to the infield care center.

April 4, 2004 – Elliott Sadler edged Kasey Kahne in a photo finish to win the NASCAR Cup Series Samsung/Radio Shack 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Sadler held off the hard-charging Kahne by 0.028-seconds to score the victory in front of a crowd of 216,000. The win broke Sadler’s 108-race winless streak, dating back to his victory at Bristol Motor Speedway in March, 2001.

April 4, 1998 – Dale Earnhardt Jr. recorded his first career NASCAR Xfinity (Busch Grand National) Series win in the Coca-Cola 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Earnhardt passed Joe Nemechek, as they took the white flag, on his way to the victory. Elliott Sadler also got by Nemechek to finish second. Nemechek, who led a race-high 83 laps, wound up third.

April 4, 1993 – Rusty Wallace led 376 laps en route to the win in the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Wallace won the race over Dale Earnhardt. It was an emotional win for Wallace as he took a Polish Victory Lap in honor of Alan Kulwicki, who lost his life in a plane crash three days earlier.

April 4, 1992 – Harry Gant scored his 20th of 21 career NASCAR Xfinity (Busch Grand National) Series wins when he took the checkered flag in the Budweiser 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Gant, who led the final 134 laps, won the race ahead of Davey Allison. Jeff Gordon led 83 laps and finished fifth.

April 4, 1982 – Dale Earnhardt led 181 of the 367 laps to win the CRC Chemicals Rebel 500 at Darlington Raceway. Earnhardt held off Cale Yarborough by less than a car length for his lone victory of the season.

April 4, 1976 – Cale Yarborough dominated the Gwyn Staley 400 at North Wilkesboro Speedway for his second of nine wins during his championship-winning season. Yarborough led 364 of the 400 laps and won the race by over a lap over Richard Petty.

April 4, 1971 – A.J. Foyt won the Atlanta 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway for his fifth of seven career NASCAR Cup Series wins. Foyt led 205 laps and took the checkered flag ahead of Richard Petty, who was the only other driver on the lead lap.
