Justin Haley and Kaulig Racing head to Pocono Raceway looking to continue their success this year in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
It’s been a big week for Haley after scoring his first Xfinity Series win this past weekend and announcing on Tuesday that he will compete in the NASCAR All-Star Race on July 15 at Bristol Motor Speedway for Spire Motorsports.
Haley’s triumph in the Unhinged 300 at Talladega Superspeedway gave him the distinction of becoming the 32nd driver to win in all three of NASCAR’s national series. The victory could help Haley’s future as he stated after climbing out of his car following the win that he has yet to secure a ride for 2021.
“I think it’s something that I can say that anything I’ve stepped in I’ve won in,” Haley said on “NASCAR Live” on the Motor Racing Network. “As a race car driver there’s nothing more confirming, or you know, there’s a lot of confidence goes with that I know I can just show up and race to win.”
The Talladega win added to his resume that includes an ARCA Menards (was K&N Pro) Series East championship in 2016 after winning twice along with three trips to Victory Lane in the ARCA Menards Series. One of his ARCA wins came at Pocono in 2017.
“I have always ran really good there,” Haley said about 2.5-mile Pocono track. “I feel like obviously Kaulig Racing’s cars are a lot faster than they were last year. So whatever place we finished there last year (ninth) I’m sure we’re going to blow it out of the water. It’s been kind of in our trend.”

Kaulig Racing has captured two wins in the last four Xfinity Series races with AJ Allmendinger taking the checkered flag at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The team also has pocketed the Dash 4 Cash $100,000 bonus with Allmendinger at Homestead-Miami Speedway and Ross Chastain at Talladega. This weekend at Pocono, both Haley and Chastain will be eligible for the bonus.
“Got the Dash 4 Cash…Sunday race, right before the Cup race,” Haley said. “It’s going to be awesome.
“I think the biggest thing about it is there’s no practice. You know, we’ve kind of gotten used to the no practice thing. Pocono is one of those tracks that’s like, different. You know, it’s like really truly different. So, I feel like the first few laps are going to kind of be back to Darlington it’s going to be pretty crazy.”
Haley, Allmendinger (2) and Chastain (1) have combined to record the four wins for Kaulig since the team started in 2016. The trio also have posted 17 of the team’s 19 top fives in the past two seasons. Haley has captured eight of them and leads the team with 27 top 10s, including seven this year.
“I think the biggest thing is when we win, when one of us wins, we all win,” Haley said.
“That starts at the top with Matt Kaulig and everyone and his motto and how he runs a race team with Chris Rice. So it’s been awesome. It’s good to have teammates that have your back all the time.”
Allmendinger and Chastain joined Haley on the frontstretch at Talladega to celebrate the emotional victory as a team.
