Kyle Busch had a conversation with Chase Elliott following Wednesday night’s incident in the closing laps of the NASCAR Cup Series Toyota 500 at Darlington Raceway.
Busch made contact with Elliott while racing for second on Lap 200 to send Elliott’s car into the inside wall. The incident took Elliott out of the race to a 38th-place finish while Busch went on to finish second.
Following another second-place finish in Thursday’s Xfinity Series race at Darlington, Busch confirmed he talked to Elliott.
“Yes, Chase and I talked,” Busch said. “Went really well. He’s a class act, we’ve all seen that. Conversation overall was good.”

After the race on Wednesday, Busch took blame for the incident saying he “misjudged the gap.”
When Elliott climbed from his damaged car he waited for Busch to circle back under caution so he could give him the one-finger salute.
