Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace visited Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on Tuesday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Blaney, an avid “Star Wars” fan, and Wallace had the chance to take in the sights at the themed land, known as the planet Batuu along with riding its two featured attractions – “Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run” and its newest thrill ride “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.”
“I’m a big Star Wars fan so it’s nice to be in like my own world I feel like,” Blaney said.
“Smuggler’s Run was very neat. Any time you get to pilot the Millennium Falcon is pretty special. Rise of the Resistance ride really blew me away.”
Blaney and Wallace’s day also included a lightsaber photo opportunity with First Order stormtroopers.
After the weekend at the track that featured Daytona 500 practice and qualifying, plus the Busch Clash many of the drivers spent time at Disney World on Monday and Tuesday with no on-track activity.
“For as long as I have been coming to Daytona you are down here for a week and a half with some on-track to start and then you have a couple days off to let your mind go and have fun with friends and family,” Wallace said. “That’s nice to be able to do.”
