Leavine Family Racing announced today that Christopher Bell will join the organization for the 2020 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season.
Bell will drive the No. 95 Toyota with sponsorship from Rheem and Procore for the team that is affiliated with Joe Gibbs Racing.
“Since I was young, I wanted to make a career out of racing,” Bell said. “To take this next step and race in the NASCAR Cup Series with the support of LFR, JGR and Toyota is just a dream come true. It also means a lot to me to have Rheem make the move to Cup racing with me. I wouldn’t be in the position I am today without their support and I’m also excited to have the opportunity to represent Procore now.”
Bell is coming off his seventh win of the NASCAR Xfinity Series season with JGR and is locked into the Round of 8. He will replace Matt DiBenedetto, who will race for the Wood Brothers in 2020, in the No. 95 at the end of the season.
“Having been under the JGR banner these past seasons in the Xfinity Series and with TRD for as long as I can remember, having their continued support as I transition to LFR is extremely comforting and will be a tremendous benefit to me,” Bell said.
Jason Ratcliff, who is currently Bell’s crew chief in the Xfinity Series, will be Bell’s crew chief next season. Ratcliff has 15 wins the in Cup Series as a crew chief, most recently with Matt Kenseth in 2017.
“I think having Jason along beside me is going to be a huge,” Bell said. “He’s a great crew chief. He’s got a lot of experience with veteran drivers and we got to start our communication process in the Xfinity Series together, so there’s nobody else I’d rather go with than him.”
Bell won the Gander Outdoors Truck Series title in 2017. He currently has 15 wins, 39 top fives and 44 top-10 finishes in 68 Xfinity Series starts.
