Mark Kinser put on a clinic early Sunday morning, coming all they way from 11th place to win the World of Outlaws Kings Royal Race at Eldora Speedway.

After heavy rain caused a four-hour delay, Danny Wood started the A main race on the pole and held it through an endless amount of cautions and restarts early on, including a red flag on Lap 10. He was looking to win his first A main feature race of the year when Kinser began his run through the field.

After the WoO points leader chipped away to move up the field slowly, he made a serious charge on Lap 15, when he took sixth from Craig Dollansky. Kinser then went low to pass four more drivers over the next five laps and found himself running side by side with Wood on Lap 21.

Kinser then went low again and passed Wood on Lap 22 for the lead and he went on to win by three seconds.

“Starting 11th on a fast track like we had tonight, I wasn’t sure we even had a shot, but this MOPAR car was great tonight, my dad (Karl Kinser), Justin (Adams), Willie (Kahne), and Dennis (Kohler) gave me a car that could work anywhere on the race track,” Kinser said. “Those (early) cautions helped, and the (open) red flag helped tremendously - Karl Kinser’s the best there is. Actually, Paul McMahan showed me the bottom (of the speedway) there early on, and then he got off it. The Eldora Speedway crew did a great job just getting us a race track tonight, and I thank them for all their hard work.”

Steve Kinser finished third, followed by Friday night’s race winner Andy Hillenburg, Dollansky and Stevie Smith. After Wood was passed by Kinser he continued to drop back in the field and finished sixth.

Mark Kinser, who now has 13 A main wins this year, leads the WoO championship standings with 5967 points, followed by Lasoski’s 5929. Steve Kinser is third in the standings with 5804 points.
