William Byron scored his second straight NASCAR XFINITY Series win in Saturday’s rain-delayed Coca-Cola Firecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

Byron was ahead of the field when caution waved just after he passed the overtime line to make it back-to-back trips to Victory Lane after his win last weekend at Iowa Speedway.

"This is so cool to when at Daytona. I can't even imagine it. This is really cool for my team and I'm just really happy for everybody," Byron said.

The 19-year-old Byron became the youngest Daytona XFINITY Series race winner in history.

“We’re extremely blessed to be here and just a lot of hard work from all these guys to get here,” Byron said. “As a team, we’re getting more and more confident. Coming into this week, I could tell everyone was confident.

“I never thought I’d win one of these. It’s so hard to win it.”

Byron's JR Motorsports teammate Elliott Sadler finished second.

"William knows where the edge is," Sadler said. "A lot of young guys come in and tear stuff up. William doesn't cross the line."

Dakoda Armstrong, Jeb Burton and David Starr rounded out the top five - each scoring career-best finishes.

"It was a good day for us surviving, got some stage points," Armstrong said. "Really good day and two good weeks in a row from us and good momentum in the points for our team. I felt like we ran a good race too, which was good.”

Brennan Poole, Ross Chastain, Joey Logano, Joey Gase and Brendan Gaughan completed the first 10 finishers.

Blake Koch and Sadler won the first two stages.

The race included several multi-car accidents including one that caused a red flag to send it into overtime. The melee broke out on the backstretch and swept up 16 cars before it ended. There were no injuries.

The race ran 11 laps Friday night before rain forced officials to resume action on Saturday. More rain in the area delayed the schedule 12 Noon ET start and then again after 31 laps.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series now heads to Kentucky Speedway next Friday night.
