Kyle Larson led 137 laps en route to scoring the win in Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series OneMain Financial 200 at Dover International Speedway.

Larson dominated the day to score his third series win of the season and eighth of his career. He led three times, including the final 54 laps. The Chip Ganassi Racing driver started from the pole.

“I’ve had some good runs at Dover and I’ve had some bad ones, too, so to get a win is really cool,” Larson said. “It was a heck of a race. The whole pit crew and everybody in the shop did an amazing job preparing this car. I had a blast.

“(Ryan) Blaney was probably as equal as me, we just got a better start there after that second Stage then he did.”

Blaney, Daniel Suarez, Cole Custer and Ryan Reed rounded out the top five.

“I think we’re really close,” Blaney said. “ It’s just a matter of closing those little gaps on all race tracks...short track, mile-and-a-halfs, longer tracks. It’s been fun to be a part of that progression. Obviously, we want to be winning races but you have to put the work in to get there. They’ve definitely done that. Just a little bit more is what we need.”

William Byron, Elliott Sadler, Darrell Wallace, Matt Tifft and Ty Dillon completed the first 10 finishers.

Byron’s sixth-place finish earned him the $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus.

“Hopefully, we can keep building on this,” said Byron, who was the highest finisher of the four driver eligible for the bonus. “We got off cycle on the last stop. I wish we could have gotten a win but $100,000 is really good.

“Hopefully, we can get even better next week.”

Wallace, who won a stage and was hoping to win the bonus money, isn’t sure what his future holds in terms of sponsorship. He was disappointed with not being able to finish the day accomplishing those goals.

“Heartbreak day,” he said. “We have one more race left and this one was the one we were going to win, for sure. It just didn’t happen. We can’t get any luck. I got a little sideways on that one restart and it cost us a little bit. It was a good day for our Cars 3 Mustang team. It was ours. It would have been nice to get the $100,000 and bought us our Michigan race that we don’t have.”

Erik Jones was an early race favorite but exited early with a mechanical issue and was never a factor.

“It started vibrating really bad and I had oil pressure and everything was fine and then coming off of four, it just blew up completely," Jones explained. "It looked like an oil pump. I guess it just locked up. It’s the first motor failure I’ve ever had with JGR (Joe Gibbs Racing) or anybody. It’s unfortunate. We didn’t have the best car today, but I think the Reser’s Camry could of got up and ran in the top-three with a few more adjustments. It’s unfortunate, but can’t do anything about it.”

The NASCAR XFINITY Series now heads to Pocono Raceway next Saturday afternoon.
