Several NASCAR drivers and crew chiefs plan to spend the holidays in a variety of ways with many just enjoying the time of the year family and friends.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship-winning crew chief will spend the holiday break in his native country.

“We head back to Canada for the week,” Pearn said.  “I haven’t seen my parents and my wife’s parents they only live a few minutes a part so it’s pretty easy that way. I’ll see all the nieces and nephews and all the family. Full on chaos. We tend to see people and visit people when we’re home.”

One thing Pearn didn’t have to worry about in the pre-holiday rush was purchasing presents.

“Now that I’m married I don’t know that I buy any gifts any more,” he joked.

While a member of the Colordao-based Furniture Row Racing team travels to Canada, another driver will spend the holidays in the title-winning team’s backyard.

“We’ve been spending Christmas in Colorado the last few years,” explained Chase Elliott about his holiday season plans. “Christmas and New Year’s in the mountains out there is pretty neat.”

The family theme includes Team Penske driver Brad Keselowski, who will also use the break as a time of reflection.

“It’s just nice to see your entire family in one setting to reflect with gratitude the privilege that we have to live in this world in this time day and age with these opportunities I have personally in motorsports with a great team that I have at the track but a great team away from the track with my family that takes care of us,” Keselowski said.

A fellow Michigander of Keselowski’s Erik Jones is looking forward to recapturing the family tradition he’s grown up with over the years.

“Well for me it’s really been pretty similar throughout my whole life Christmas Eve was always over at our house and Christmas Day over at grandma’s house,” Jones said. “It’s kind of nice to go back to that and spend time with the family. I have a pretty small family so it’s just nice to seem them all and say hi to them.”

Parenthood is very prevalent around the NASCAR world these days and that means children will play a big part in the holiday plans of several drivers, including Kyle Busch.

“Well considering Christmas is a holiday for my son now a days that’s gonna be pretty fun, Busch said. “I’m looking forward to that but then New Year’s is my wife and my anniversary so that one’s pretty special too.”
