MOORESVILLE, N.C. - Germain Racing has signed veteran crew chief Matt Borland to work with driver Ty Dillon on the team's No. 13 Chevrolet in the Monster Energy Series.

Borland inked a multi-year agreement to begin immediately as Robert "Bootie" Barker's replacement.

"With his engineering skills and veteran leadership, we're looking forward to continued improvements in our team results as we move into the new season and beyond," team owner Bob Germain Jr. said of Borland.

The 2017 season was Dillon's first with Germain Racing. The team finished 25th in the final standings, an improvement of four spots over 2016 - though Dillon missed a post-season berth by more than 300 points. Borland most recently served as Paul Menard's Cup Series crew chief at Richard Childress Racing.
