Joe Gibbs Racing Monster Energy Series crew Jason Ratcliff has been fined $20,000 and suspended from next year's season-opening Daytona 500 for a rules violation this past weekend.

During post-race inspection Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, it was discovered that lug nuts were improperly installed on Matt Kenseth's Toyota after the No. 20 entry finished eighth in the season-ending Ford EcoBoost 400.

Ratcliff's suspension may not apply next season during Speedweeks since he's leaving the Cup Series to serve as crew chief for Christopher Bell in the XFINITY Series.

Ratcliff is the 10th crew chief to be suspended across all three of NASCAR’s national series since the playoffs began in September. Those affected come from some of the sport’s most high-profile organizations including JGR, Hendrick Motorsports, Stewart-Haas Racing, Richard Childress Racing, Kyle Busch Motorsports and Junior Motorsports.

Crew chiefs Paul Wolfe (Team Penske, Cup Series) and Phil Gould (Roush Fenway Racing, XFINITY Series) were also fined after loose lug nuts were discovered during post-race inspection in Miami.
