Driver Notes - Ordered by Average Finish (Top 15) in the Last Five Races at Homestead-Miami

Kevin Harvick is the only driver that has finished in the top 10 in each of the last nine races at Homestead-Miami. He's finished in the top three in the last three races, including a win that scored him the championship in 2014. Harvick won two weeks ago at Texas Motor Speedway to lower his average finish to 8.6 in the 10 races at 1.5-mile tracks this season, which ranks second among all drivers. He also led 59 laps and finished third at Chicagoland Speedway with the same tire combination that will be used this weekend.

Matt Kenseth has finished seventh or better in his last four starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway, including a second-place finish after leading 144 laps in 2013. His lone win at the track came in 2007 when he drove for Roush Fenway Racing. Kenseth, who won last weekend at Phoenix Raceway, has the seventh-best average finish among drivers that competed in all 10 races at 1.5-mile tracks this season.

Kyle Larson led 132 and finished second last year in this event for his second consecutive top five at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Larson has recorded DNFs in his last four races this season, including two at 1.5-mile tracks - Kansas Speedway (engine) and Texas Motor Speedway (accident). He will look to turn around his recent string of bad luck this weekend after testing at HMS in late October.

Joey Logano has finished fourth in the last two races at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He's coming off his sixth top 10 in the 10 races at 1.5-mile tracks, finishing seventh at Texas Motor Speedway.

Denny Hamlin has finished in the top 10 in the last four races at Homestead-Miami Speedway, including a win in 2013. The win was his second in 12 overall starts. Hamlin, who tested at Homestead-Miami last month, has finished in the top five in the last five races at 1.5-mile tracks.

Chase Elliott finished 11th last season in his first Cup start at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This season, Elliott is tied for the third-best average finish (10.3) in the 10 races at 1.5-mile tracks this season. He's finished eighth or better in the last five, dating back to Kentucky Speedway.

Kyle Busch has finished seventh or better in four of the last five races at Homestead-Miami Speedway, including a win in 2015 that earned him the championship. Busch has led 460 laps and posted an average finish of 13.8 in the 10 races at 1.5-mile tracks this season. He led a race high-high 85 laps at Chicagoland Speedway with the same tire combination that will be used this weekend.

Brad Keselowski finished 35th last season at Homestead-Miami Speedway after getting swept up in a late-race accident. The finish snapped a streak of three consecutive results of sixth or better. Keselowski is coming off his fourth top five of the season at a 1.5-mile track. He tested at HMS last month.

Kurt Busch has posted a 10.7 average finish in his three Homestead-Miami Speedway starts with Stewart-Haas Racing. His last of six top 10s in 16 overall starts came in 2015. Busch won the pole at Texas Motor Speedway earlier this month and finished in the top 10 in the last two races at 1.5-mile tracks.

Ryan Newman has posted a 14.3 average finish in his three Homestead-Miami Speedway starts with Richard Childress Racing, including a second-place finish in 2014. Newman's only top 10 in the 10 races at 1.5-mile tracks this season came in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Jimmie Johnson is coming off his first win at Homestead-Miami Speedway, which earned him the 2016 championship. The win was his fourth straight top 10. Johnson, who tested at HMS last month, has posted one win and an average finish of 16.5 in the 10 races at 1.5-mile tracks this season.

Jamie McMurray has finished fifth in two of his last three starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He's finished in the top 10 in seven of the 10 races at 1.5-mile tracks this season, but has finished 18th or worse in the last two.

Martin Truex Jr. scored his last of seven top 10s at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2013. Truex has dominated the 10 races at 1.2-mile tracks this season, scoring six wins, 1,054 laps led and an average finish of 2.7. He tested at HMS last month and led 77 laps en route to the win at Chicagoland Speedway with the same tire combination that will be used this weekend.

Clint Bowyer has posted a 14.9 average finish in 11 starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Bowyer will be making his first track start with Stewart-Haas Racing after posting a 16.3 average finish with the team in the 10 races at 1.5-mile tracks this season.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has only recorded two top 10s in 16 starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway with those finishes of 10th and third coming in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Three of Earnhardt's eight top 10s this season have come at 1.5-mile tracks.
