HARRISBURG, N.C. – Chris Buescher has signed a multi-year contract with JTG Daugherty Racing to continue as driver of the team's No. 37 Monster Energy Series Chevrolet.

"We built our team from the ground up this season, and I’m thankful to continue that in 2018 and beyond," Buescher said.

Buescher, 24, came on the scene in the ARCA Racing Series in 2009 after being signed as a development driver with Roush Fenway Racing. He won the championship in 2012 and advanced to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2014, winning that title the following year.

Buescher began racing full-time in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series last season, winning at Pocono Raceway to earn a spot in the post-season playoffs. This year, his best finish in 23 starts is sixth place last weekend at Michigan International Speedway. He'll need a win in the last three regular-season races to return to the playoffs. Buescher is 277 points below the cutoff heading into Saturday night's race at Bristol.

"Chris has been a great addition to the JTG Daugherty Racing family," said team owner Tad Geschickter. "We’ve learned a lot from him and the No. 37 team. We’re truly blessed and excited for the future."
