Qualifying for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway was canceled following morning rain and an adjustment to Friday's schedule.
Persistent rain in the area forced NASCAR officials to forego qualifying in hopes of allowing teams practice time in preparation for Sunday’s eighth race of the season.
The field will line-up according to the rulebook putting series point leader Kyle Larson on the pole. The Chip Ganassi Racing driver will be flanked by Chase Elliott, who will start outside the front row.
Martin Truex Jr., Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano round out the top five starters.
Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch, Jamie McMurray, Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick fill out the first 10 on the grid.
Because rain is expected to continue on-and-off the remainder of the day, NASCAR officials cancelled Cup qualifying that was scheduled for 4:45 p.m. (ET), as well as K&N Pro East qualifying at 6 p.m. (ET).
