SportsBusiness Journal reports Home Depot will cease its sponsorship of Joe Gibbs Racing after the 2014 season.

The home improvement store chain has been a part of JGR since it first started sponsoring Tony Stewart and the No. 20 entry in 1999. The company moved to back Joey Logano with the team from 2009-2012 before associating with Matt Kenseth when he joined the organization last year through its Husky brand.

Home Depot had backed down its sponsorship in recent years with Dollar General sponsoring the JGR No. 20 in 27 events this year.

JGR is now faced with the task of replacing the sponsorship and funding from Home Depot while also growing its stable to four cars with the expected addition of Carl Edwards in 2015. However, both Edwards and JGR officials have declined to comment on the speculation.
