Driver Ratings

Jimmie Johnson's top-10 performance in Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway was strong enough for him to remain on top of this week's Power Rankings:

1. Jimmie Johnson: Ran at the front of the field some during Sunday's race in Sonoma and finished seventh.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 110.1
Point Standings: 2nd
Previous Ranking: 1st

2. Dale Earnhardt Jr.: He called his third-place Sonoma finish "messy" and it was with a couple of incidents, but it still turned out to be his best finish there.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 101.8
Point Standings: 3rd
Previous Ranking: 3rd

3. Jeff Gordon: Another strong Sonoma outing that saw him finish second behind Carl Edwards. Gordon give Edwards a run for the money in the closing laps.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 108.2
Point Standings: 1st
Previous Ranking: 5th

4. Kevin Harvick: Deja vu for Harvick on Sunday with a fast car but problems on pit road and an on-track incident derailing his day.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 108.5
Point Standings: 9th
Previous Ranking: 2nd

5. Brad Keselowski: One of Sonoma's biggest surprises was how uncompetitive Keselowski was virtually from the drop of the green flag.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 101.3
Point Standings: 5th
Previous Ranking: 4th

6. Carl Edwards: Just what the doctor ordered for Roush Fenway Racing and Edwards - a win at Sonoma, even though not many predicted he'd be doing a Victory Lane backflip before the race started.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 87.0
Point Standings: 6th
Previous Ranking: 9th

7. Joey Logano: Had a better car than his Team Penske partner Brad Keselowski but things did not fall into place for Logano, who was forced to settle for a 16th-place finish.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 103.6
Point Standings: 7th
Previous Ranking: 6th

8. Matt Kenseth: His day ended with a vicious crash into the tire barrier after Dale Earnhardt Jr. made inadvertent contact with Kenseth, who had his first career Sonoma DNF.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 94.5
Point Standings: 4th
Previous Ranking: 7th

9. Paul Menard: The Richard Childress Racing driver has already tied his career mark for top-10 finishes in a season and drove to an impressive fifth-place performance in Sonoma.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 80.7
Point Standings: 12th
Previous Ranking: NR

10. Kurt Busch: The pendulum is beginning to turn for Busch, who has been much stronger in recent weeks. Despite only finishing 12th in Sonoma, he had a pretty potent car.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 81.6
Point Standings: 26th
Previous Ranking: NR

Dropped Out: Tony Stewart, Kyle Larson
