BROOKLYN, Mich. - Kyle Larson recently bought a new house and now will have an extra member of the family set to move in at the end of the season.
Larson announced that he and girlfriend Katelyn Sweet are expecting a child at the end of December.
"It really is fun I’m having a blast this year," Larson said. "A lot of stuff going on, me and Katelyn just found out we are having a baby so it’s a really exciting time. How good the racing has been going, a new house, all that and now that so it’s been a lot of fun.”
Larson is currently 10th in the Sprint Cup Point Standings, coming off his third top five of his rookie season. He will make his first Michigan International Speedway Cup start on Sunday. He finished second there last year (to Regan Smith) in the Nationwide Series.
"I like Michigan a lot," Larson said. "I think I do well on the 1.5-mile to 2-mile race tracks. I wish I would have gotten to race here before they repaved it. We did well here in the Nationwide race last year and looking for some good things again this week. It’s probably a lot of a pit strategy race and track position race, but I feel like our Target team is good at getting me track position. I’m really excited about this weekend.”
Motor Racing Network - "The Voice of NASCAR" - will have live coverage of Sunday's Quicken Loans 400 starting at 12 p.m. (ET), with live streaming at MRN.com.
