The longest race of the Sprint Cup Series season highlights the Memorial Day Weekend calendar that includes the Indianapolis 500, Nationwide Series, K&N Pro Series West, Whelen Modified Tour and the World of Outlaws.

Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway is race No. 12 of the Sprint Cup Series season, and a true test of driver and machine.  Kevin Harvick is the defending winner while Jamie McMurray tries for a Charlotte sweep after his victory in the Sprint All-Star Race.

Jimmie Johnson will start from the pole after besting the field in Thursday night’s qualifying session.

Saturday afternoon, the Nationwide Series will run the History 300 with rookie Chase Elliott atop the standings by two points over Regan Smith and Elliott Sadler.  The green flag is set to fly at approximately 3 p.m. (ET).  On Sunday, the Coca-Cola 600 is set to begin at 6:15 p.m.

MRN.com will be trackside in Charlotte throughout the weekend to bring you the latest news, information, results, statistics, photos, audio, video and post-race analysis.

Sunday afternoon will see the 98th running of the Indianapolis 500.  Kurt Busch will start 12th for Andretti Autosport.  He's the first NASCAR driver in a decade to attempt the Indy-Charlotte double, running at "The Brickyard" and then heading south to drive his Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet in the Coca-Cola 600.

Elsewhere, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour makes a Friday night visit to Connecticut’s Stafford Motor Speedway.  The K&N Pro Series West has a Saturday night date at California’s Kern County Raceway Park.

And the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series travels to The Dirt Track at Charlotte on Friday before making a holiday appearance at Indiana’s Lawrenceburg Speedway on Monday.

From all of us at MRN.com, best wishes for a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend!
