NASCAR’s annual visit to Darlington Raceway tops the weekend racing calendar which includes the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, Whelen Southern Modified Tour and World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
"The Track Too Tough to Tame" is set for a NASCAR doubleheader this weekend, headlined by Saturday night’s 65th running of the Bojangles' Southern 500. There have been seven races so far in 2014 with seven different faces in Victory Lane. Last year’s Darlington winner, Matt Kenseth, looks to join that list with his first checkered flag of the year.
The weekend begins with Friday’s qualifying session and Motor Racing Network’s live coverage beginning at 6 p.m. (ET). Also Friday, the Nationwide Series hits the track for the VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200. MRN takes to the airwaves for live coverage at 7:30 p.m.
Then on Saturday night, Motor Racing Network’s live coverage of the Bojangles' Southern 500 begins at 5:30 p.m. Nationwide Series points leader and Texas race winner Chase Elliott will join the MRN broadcast team for race coverage from Darlington.
MRN.com will be trackside at Darlington all weekend for breaking news, results, statistics, features, photos, audio, video and post-race analysis.
Meanwhile, the inaugural TUDOR Championship heads west to the streets of Long Beach, Calif., for Saturday’s Tequila Patron Sports Car Showcase. The Action Express team takes the Prototype points lead into the event on one of the most prestigious street circuits in all of road racing. Motor Racing Network will carry live coverage beginning at 6 p.m. (ET).
You can listen to all Motor Racing Network broadcasts from Darlington and Long Beach on your local MRN radio station or its website. MRN.com will also carry a live stream of every race from both Darlington and Long Beach.
Elsewhere, the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour makes a Saturday stop at Virginia’s Langley Speedway. And the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series remains in California for a Friday race at Kings Speedway and a Saturday visit to Perris Auto Speedway.
