A NASCAR doubleheader at Martinsville Speedway tops the weekend racing calendar that will see the Sprint Cup and Camping World Truck Series, Whelen Southern Modified Tour and World of Outlaws all in action.

The historic Martinsville Speedway half-mile will host both the Sprint Cup and Camping World Truck Series in the first of two visits for each of NASCAR’s top divisions.  The .526-mile Virginia short track has been a staple of NASCAR racing since the sport’s inception.

Sunday’s STP 500 is the sixth Sprint Cup Series race of the 2014 season, which has seen five different drivers.  Among those still looking for their first trip to Victory Lane this year are perennial Martinsville contenders Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin and Jeff Gordon.

The weekend begins Friday with qualifying for the Sprint Cup Series.  Motor Racing Network - "The Voice of NASCAR" - takes to the airwaves for live coverage beginning at 4:30 p.m. (ET).

Saturday will see the Camping World Truck Series return to action for the first time since the Daytona season opener in February.  Darrell "Bubba" Wallace will be looking for his second straight Martinsville win after scoring his first career NCWTS victory at the track last October.  Motor Racing Network will present live flag-to-flag coverage of the Kroger 250 starting at 2 p.m.

Then on Sunday, MRN's broadcast of the STP 500 begins at 12 noon.

You can listen to all the weekend’s Martinsville broadcasts on your Motor Racing Network radio affiliate or its website.  Every broadcast will also stream live at MRN.com - which will be trackside at Martinsville to bring you the latest news, results, statistics, photos, audio, video and post-race analysis.

Elsewhere, the Whelen Southern Modified Tour will compete Saturday at Caraway Speedway in North Carolina.  And the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series has a California weekend planned with a Friday night stop at Merced Speedway before moving to Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday.

Stay with MRN.com all weekend for the latest racing news and information 24/7!
