Media Tour Ready to Roll

The 32nd annual NASCAR Sprint Media Tour kicks off this week in Charlotte with a variety of news expected.

More than 230 motorsports journalists will take part in the preseason event hosted by Charlotte Motor Speedway.

"This four-day event provides media outlets across the country and around the world with newsworthy content as fans gear up for the 2014 NASCAR season," said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. "It takes a lot of support and cooperation from Sprint, the race teams and NASCAR to make it possible, and we've been proud to produce this preseason kickoff for more than 30 years. I'm always as excited as our fans to hear what the drivers and owners have to say about the upcoming season."

NASCAR teams, such as Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, Front Row Motorsports, Furniture Row Racing, Leavine Family Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing, JTG Daugherty Racing, Hendrick Motorsports, Michael Waltrip Racing, Stewart-Haas Racing, Team Penske, Richard Childress Racing, Richard Petty Motorsports, Roush Fenway Racing and Wood Brothers Racing are expected to take part in the four-day event.

NASCAR Chairman Brian France will offer his state of the sport address during the final day of the tour and is expected to confirm plans for a revised Chase and championship format in 2014. will have extensive coverage from the tour all week including daily recaps, in-depth stories and features, analysis, reaction, audio and video.
