A NASCAR doubleheader at Michigan International Speedway, the Nationwide Series debut at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and a first-ever GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series event at Kansas Speedway headline a busy August weekend of racing.

Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400 at MIS marks the second stop of the year by the Sprint Cup Series at the two-mile superspeedway.  Greg Biffle won when the series competed at the track in June and is one of a number of drivers right in the thick of a battle to secure a spot in this year’s Chase with only four races left in the regular season.

The weekend kicks off Friday with Motor Racing Network’s coverage of qualifying for the Pure Michigan 400 at 3:30 p.m. (ET), streamed live at

On Saturday, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series takes center stage for the Michigan National Guard 200.  MRN will have live flag-to-flag coverage beginning at 12 p.m.  Then on Sunday, the 23rd race of the 2013 season rolls off with Motor Racing Network on the air at 12 noon (ET). will be trackside in Michigan all weekend for late-breaking news, results, statistics, photos, audio, video and post-race analysis.

Meanwhile, the Nationwide Series makes its debut at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, with Saturday’s Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200.  Austin Dillon leads Sam Hornish Jr. by three points and Regan Smith by five heading into Saturday’s race on the 2.258-mile, 13-turn natural road course.

Motor Racing Network will have live coverage beginning at 2 p.m.

Also on Saturday, the GRAND-AM Series travels to Kansas Speedway for the first time to compete in the SFP Grand Prix.  A unique course utilizing both the infield and part of the 1.5-mile oval will be utilized for the race.  MRN will air live coverage at 7:45 p.m. (ET).

Elsewhere in the racing world, the K&N Pro Series West visits Washington’s Evergreen Speedway on Saturday night.  And the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series makes a stop at North Dakota’s River Cities Speedway on Saturday before moving to Nodak Speedway for a Sunday show.
