The Labor Day Weekend racing calendar is full of action including a NASCAR doubleheader at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the Camping World Truck Series debut in Canada, plus the K&N Pro Series East, Whelen Southern Modified Tour and World of Outlaws Sprints Car Series also on track.
Sunday night’s AdvoCare 500 is the next-to-last race of the Sprint Cup Series regular season and the race for the Chase is in high gear. Jimmie Johnson saw his lead over Clint Bowyer shrink to just 18 points after last week’s stop in Bristol while positions 8-13 in the standings are separated by only 27 points.
Qualifying is set for Friday night with a pair of practice sessions slated for Saturday. And later that night, the Nationwide Series takes center stage with a championship battle of its own in the Great Clips/Grit Chips 300. Sam Hornish Jr. Austin Dillon and Elliott Sadler are within 11 points of one another heading into Saturday’s race.
Sunday night, the AdvoCare 500 is scheduled for a 7:45 p.m. (ET) green flag.
MotorRacingNetwork.com will be trackside in Atlanta all weekend for breaking news, results, statistics, photos, audio, video and post-race analysis.
The Camping World Truck Series makes its first-ever visit to Canada for the Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Toronto. The trucks haven’t raced on a road course for over a decade and will tackle the challenging 2.459-mile, 10-turn circuit in Bowmanville, Ontario, on Sunday afternoon.
Motor Racing Network’s live coverage of the Chevrolet Silverado 250 will begin at 1 p.m. You can listen to the broadcast on your local MRN radio affiliate or its website. The race will also stream live at MotorRacingNetwork.com.
Saturday the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour visits Langley Speedway. Monday afternoon, the K&N Pro Series East returns to South Carolina’s historic Greenville-Pickens Speedway. And the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series is at Washington State's Skagit Speedway on Saturday before moving to Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash., for a Labor Day show on Monday.
