One win isn't enough to convince me Logano has enough to race his way into the Chase. Yes the No. 22 team is hot of late and has rattled off top-10 finishes. Logano's victory Sunday in Michigan was a huge boost of confidence for not just the driver but the entire Penske team. Good vibrations all around after the day they had in the Irish Hills to be sure.

However, with two of the next three races on tracks where Logano has struggled in the past - namely Bristol and Richmond - he'll face a pretty formidable challenge to bust his way inside the top 10 of the standings or add another win to be a Wild Card contender by the time the Chase field is set. He'll also need some others to fumble like Greg Biffle, Martin Truex Jr., Kurt Busch or Penske teammate Brad Keselowski, which I believe is just too much to ask over the upcoming three weeks.

I think he will. I like what this team has done this summer, collecting 10 finishes of 11th or better in the last 12 races. The only two times in that stretch he didn’t finish 11th or better came when he had tire issues at Daytona and New Hampshire.

You want to see teams surging as they come to the Chase and this team is. The key will be to avoid problems. Bristol has not been a great place for Logano in Cup with one top-10 finish in nine starts there. Richmond hasn’t been much better (two top-10 finishes in nine starts), but he placed third there in the spring. While the series hasn’t raced at Atlanta this season, Logano has been solid on similar tracks since May. Here is his chance. Now it’s time for Logano to prove he belongs in the Chase.
