Newman Celebrates 'Built in the USA'

Independence Day is a time to celebrate all things American. It’s a time to be outside relaxing in the sun and truly appreciating this country – and the products made in the USA – with friends and family. Our great American sport of NASCAR embodies the best of this … at home or at the race track.

Every year, NASCAR teams, drivers and fans put patriotism first over this holiday weekend with USA-themed paint schemes, clothing, barbecues, high-flying American flags and yes, even patriotic tattoos.

While these traditions are an important part of the celebration, Fourth of July Weekend is also about honoring our military veterans for their service, and recognizing the brave men and women on duty around the world preserving our independence.

One of the drivers leading the charge this year is Ryan Newman, who has teamed up with Oral-B as part of the brand’s “Built in the USA” campaign, which focuses on its commitment to the American workforce and products made right here in the USA. Oral-B currently builds more than 350 million manual toothbrushes every year at its plant in Iowa City, Iowa, which is the largest toothbrush plant in the world.

Together, Newman and Oral-B are hitting the road and working together in race cities during major American holidays. Daytona Beach, Fla., is the second stop on the brand’s “Built in the USA” Tour which kicked off around Memorial Day in Charlotte, N.C., and will continue for Labor Day in Atlanta and Veterans Day in Phoenix.

As part of this weekend’s activities around the Coke Zero 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway, Newman and Oral-B are celebrating Oral-B’s partnership with Hope For The Warriors®, an organization that assists post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.

We all know the vital role U.S. servicemen and women play in the American workforce. But do you realize that nearly 10 percent of post-9/11 veterans are unemployed, which is well above the national average? Because of this, Oral-B has pledged $100,000 to Hope For The Warriors, a commitment that will go directly to helping these brave, exceptional individuals reintegrate into the civilian workforce.

Together, Oral-B and Newman are asking you to join them. Pledge to start your day by using an Oral-B Pro-Health All-in-One manual toothbrush, which is proudly built in Iowa City. You should take the pledge with confidence knowing that when you buy an Oral-B manual brush, you’re using a brand that is built in the USA and that supports veterans in the workforce.
