New Leader in Power Rankings

It took some time but there's finally a new face on top of this week's Power Rankings:

1. Matt Kenseth: Victory No. 4 of the season came with a gamble on pit road as well as some hard driving on the track in the race's final restart.

2. Jimmie Johnson: Finally knocked off the top of the mountain by Johnson's Achilles heel - late race restarts.

3. Kevin Harvick: Put another top-10 finish on his record as he readies for a return to Daytona where he was very strong back during Speedweeks.

4. Clint Bowyer: Was in the mix late in the race for possible victory but still came home a solid third place.

5. Kyle Busch: Nice rebound from early race challenges to notch a fifth-place Kentucky finish.

6. Carl Edwards: A dismal finish for Edwards who was shuffled back to 21st in the final rundown.

7. Martin Truex Jr.: Followed his Sonoma victory with a more than respectable top 10 in Kentucky.

8. Jeff Gordon: Lost ground in the final restart madness but hammered home a top 10 after his runner-up Sonoma performance.

9. Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Had the pole but was dealt major bad luck when he plowed into a tire carcass left on the track by Denny Hamlin.

10. Joey Logano: Surged into the rankings and into the top 10 of the point standings with a stellar Kentucky effort.
