Dale Jr. to Run 'Soldier of Steel' Car

Man of Steel

Earnhardt Jr. will pilot a National Guard "Soldier of Steel" paint scheme this weekend that will feature the Superman logo for the upcoming movie "Man of Steel."

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will look to make it two straight wins in the June race at Michigan International Speedway this coming weekend while driving a paint scheme promoting a movie.

Man of SteelEarnhardt, who raced a Diet Mountain Dew/"Dark Knight Rises" car to the win in last year's Quicken Loans 400, will carry a National Guard/Superman "Man of Steel" paint scheme this weekend on his No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.

"Man of Steel" will hit theatres this Friday in conjunction with the weekend's 200-lap race at MIS.  Earnhardt's paint scheme reflects not only the movie but the National Guard's recruiting program and "Soldier of Steel" game.

This is not the first time Earnhardt has raced with the Superman logo on his car.  In 1999, he drove a special Superman car in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.  Last year's "Dark Knight Rises" paint scheme was chosen by fans from an online selection of four designs.
