Busch Continues to Chase Wins

Kyle Busch has eight races remaining to try and push his multiple win season streak to five, and one of his best shots comes this weekend at Dover International Speedway.

Among the tracks left on the schedule, Dover is the only one left that he's won at more than once. Busch won the 2008 and 2010 spring events and has finished sixth or better in four of his last five starts.

“I love that place," Busch said of the 1-mile concrete oval. "It’s fun to race there and it’s a place I’m looking forward to going to with our Interstate Batteries Camry."

After narrowly missing this year's Chase for the Sprint Cup, Busch finds himself with a number of items on his agenda.

"We've moved to 2013 there's nothing in '12 that we have left to accomplish besides wins," Busch said. "We'll try to do that and get what we can for our team and get into Victory Lane before the year is out."

But the main goal for Busch and the entire Joe Gibbs Racing organization is to try and help Denny Hamlin win the championship.

"For us at JGR it's definitely about Denny Hamlin," Busch said. "That's what we're all trying to accomplish is to get him a championship and to help him.

“Down the stretch here it will be important for us if we've got a really good car that we try and help those guys out the best we can. If there's, let say, a Charlotte or a Texas or something where we are really good and he's not so good I'll get out of the car and he can come over and jump in mine and drive it and see if he likes it. If that's the case, it's pretty easy to swap over setups."

Busch appeared to be on his way to second consecutive top five of the season last weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway up until engine troubles took him out of contention. However, the issue led to Busch being able to assist Hamlin in the race.

"We probably had an easy second-place car in Loudon," Busch said. "But as it goes Denny had paper on the grille and we had issues going on so we slowed down to help him out and take care of that issue for him."

Busch will play a major role this fall in JGR's progression with the 2013 Toyota Camry that will include a test at Texas Motor Speedway.

"Or push right now is our new cars and we've got to start working on those and building them," Busch said. "We have a couple tests coming up for the 2013 car. A lot of body changes is going to happen and chassis changes as well too with NASCAR making the cars lighter for next year so we've got to go get started on most of that."

Motor Racing Network will have live coverage of Sunday's AAA 400 Sprint Cup Series race from Dover International Speedway at 1 p.m. (ET), with live streaming at MotorRacingNetwork.com
