DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR has penalized the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Sprint Cup Series team for rule infractions at Michigan International Speedway.

The Toyota driven by Kyle Busch was found to have improperly attached weight during practice Aug. 18, one day before Busch finished 13th in the Pure Michigan 400.

As a result of the violation, crew chief Dave Rogers has been fined $25,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until Oct. 3.  Car chief Wesley Sherrill has also been placed on probation for the same period of time.
