1. Greg Biffle: Made it through Martinsville relatively unscathed with a 13th-place finish, which wasn’t a bad run for Biffle at the tight Virginia short track. Continues to lead the Sprint Cup Series point standings.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 104.4
Point Standings: First

Previous Ranking: First

2. Jimmie Johnson: Looked to be in control of Sunday’s race until teammate Jeff Gordon caught him and the two became locked in an epic battle. Then was taken out of contention for victory in the late-race craziness but overall Johnson looked very strong in Martinsville.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 96.9

Point Standings: 10th
Previous Ranking: Second

3. Tony Stewart: Raced his way back into the top 10 and came away with a respectable seventh-place finish. Although Stewart wasn’t able to make it back-to-back Martinsville wins after his victory last October, he’ll take Sunday’s performance, given the circumstances.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 104.6

Point Standings: Third

Previous Ranking: Third

4. Matt Kenseth: A very impressive fourth-place finish for Kenseth at Martinsville, which has not been a very kind place to the Roush Fenway Racing driver during his Sprint Cup career. Will be a contender in two weeks at Texas Motor Speedway.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 100.8

Point Standings: Fourth

Previous Ranking: Fourth

5. Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Make it two consecutive third-place finishes for Earnhardt who followed up his Fontana performance with another solid run in Martinsville. Some late race miscommunication over fuel strategy put a small damper on an overall good afternoon for Junior.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 101.2

Point Standings: Second

Previous Ranking: Sixth

6. Kevin Harvick: Martinsville was a flop for the entire Richard Childress Racing team including Harvick, who wasn’t anywhere near as good as he was in Saturday’s truck race romp. The No. 29 team needs a week off to regroup before Texas after Sunday’s effort.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 99.5

Point Standings: Fifth

Previous Ranking: Fifth

7. Denny Hamlin: Was right in the thick of things late on Sunday and Hamlin had his sights set on yet another Martinsville win. Things went sour in the closing stages for the No. 11 FedEx Toyota driver who still managed a top-10 finish.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 102.4

Point Standings: Seventh

Previous Ranking: Seventh

8. Martin Truex Jr.: The Michael Waltrip Racing driver once again turned in an impressive performance with a fifth-place run Sunday. Those that thought Truex Jr. and MWR were a fluke are starting to become believers after the fast start to the season.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 97.8

Point Standings: Sixth
Previous Ranking: Ninth

9. Carl Edwards: Like the rest of his Roush teammates, Martinsville not a favorite for Edwards who also escaped with a decent finish. It’s time for last year’s championship runner-up to kick things in gear beginning at Texas.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 78.0

Point Standings: 11th

Previous Ranking: Eighth

10. Ryan Newman: Gave Stewart-Haas Racing its third victory in the season’s first half dozen races and in the process may have already punched his ticket to the Chase as at least a wild card entry.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 87.3
Point Standings: 8th
Previous Ranking: N/R
