1. Greg Biffle: Had a day in Kansas good enough to stay on top of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings. Steady if not spectacular but a decent fifth-place run for Biffle.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 108.2
Point Standings: First
Previous Ranking: First

2. Jimmie Johnson: Made a memorable charge through the field late when crew chief Chad Knaus called Johnson back to pit road for fresh tires. Didn’t have enough to run down the leaders but despite driving a hideous looking green racecar still had a solid day in Kansas.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 104.3
Point Standings: Seventh
Previous Ranking: Second

3. Matt Kenseth: Typically quiet yet consistent finish for Kenseth Sunday at Kansas with a fourth-place run. Doing his usual stealth-like run through the regular season to stay near the top of the standings.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 103.9
Point Standings: Third
Previous Ranking: Third

4. Martin Truex Jr.: A bitter pill for Truex Jr. to swallow after leading a race-high 173 laps in Kansas only to finish second to Denny Hamlin. But he turned in another example of why Michael Waltrip Racing is anything but a fluke in its hot start to the season and Truex Jr. will be in Victory Lane sooner rather than later.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 105.5
Point Standings: 2nd
Previous Ranking: Fifth

5. Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Rebounded from what could have been an early-race disaster when he missed pit road trying to come in for service under green. But Junior recovered and moved back inside the top 10 to finish seventh in Kansas.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 101.2
Point Standings: 4th
Previous Ranking: 4th

6. Denny Hamlin: Pretty much guaranteed a berth in the Chase with his second win of the season Sunday in Kansas. Hamlin and crew chief Darian Grubb are working together very well and the No. 11 team is by far the best in the Joe Gibbs Racing stable.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 103.7
Point Standings: Fifth
Previous Ranking: Eighth

7. Kevin Harvick: Inexplicably ran out of fuel on the first run of Sunday’s race but worked hard to fight back from what could have been a devastating turn of events. Head and shoulders out-performing the rest of the Richard Childress Racing stable at this point of the season.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 100.8
Point Standings: Seventh
Previous Ranking: Sixth

8. Tony Stewart: Wasn’t able to shake his Texas blues from the previous week, although his eventual 13th-place finish could have been a lot worse. After running so well earlier this season, all of a sudden Stewart-Haas Racing is looking a little mediocre of late.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 95.4
Point Standings: 8th
Previous Ranking: 7th

9. Carl Edwards: One of the weirdest stats of the year was recorded on Sunday when Edwards led his first lap of the season. He’s been in front a grand total of one lap now in 2012 and the No. 99 team is still stuck in the doldrums.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 80.6
Point Standings: Ninth
Previous Ranking: Ninth

10. Brad Keselowski: After a good qualifying effort, Keselowski’s chance for a second straight STP 400 win at Kansas quickly disappeared into a day that was a struggle just for the Blue Deuce to finish 11th.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 94.6
Point Standings: 15th
Previous Ranking: N/R
