The AdvoCare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race has been postponed because of weather from Tropical Storm Lee. The race will be rescheduled for Tuesday, September 6 with a start time of 11 a.m. (ET).

Rain engulfed the speedway Sunday afternoon and although a small window of opportunity allowed track officials to begin drying the speedway another band of showers hit just past 9:30 p.m. (ET) forcing the event to be postponed.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning as well as predicting heavy rains for Monday so NASCAR will not try to run the race until Tuesday morning.

Existing tickets and credentials will be honored when the gates open at 8:30 a.m. (ET).
