Biffle Focused on Third Dover Win

Dover International Speedway could be the place for Greg Biffle to break into the win column in Sunday’s FedEx 400 Benefitting Autism Speaks.

The Roush Fenway Racing driver is a two-time winner at the one-mile track and last visited Victory Lane in 2008. His enthusiasm for racing at “The Monster Mile” is high, which is a key for drivers to succeed at the challenging track.

"This has been a great track for us and we run really good here,” Biffle said. “Our car is running pretty good so far. We are real happy with where we are at. I love the race track and I feel really good about how we are going to run on Sunday."

Biffle also feels good about his race team so far in 2011. He comes into Sunday’s 11th race of the Sprint Cup Series season 12th in points and although he hasn’t won yet this season, the veteran likes the way his team has approached the early part of the campaign.

“This year we have had really fast cars capable of winning and have had stuff happen and just haven’t capitalized yet,” Biffle said. “One season to the next, that is where we are at. We are steadily climbing the ladder.

“Remember, after Vegas we were two spots away from having to qualify with the go-or-go-homer’s, 33rd in points three races in. Now we are 12th and in the media center and we haven’t won a race yet, so it has been a pretty good run for us."

Although this year’s Chase format allows for two drivers to claim berths in the post-season via wins with the Wild Card, Biffle says at this point his team is trying for both victories as well as consistent finishes to stay up in the point standings.

"Certainly we want to win,” he said. “Let’s face it, if I get a win now, it will probably propel me to the top 10. Whether we hold that spot all the way to the cut-off or not or move up more we would have to wait and see. Winning right now is very important to us and it always is.”

“It is a double-edged sword. If we win, we get the most points. We know if we win then a lot of good things happen and it gives you an outside chance at one of the two spots for the Chase. Winning gets you bonus points if you are in the Chase. Let’s face it, winning is very important and we have a great opportunity here, Kansas, Charlotte, Michigan, Pocono. We have some great tracks coming up for us."

Include Dover among those tracks where Biffle is looking forward to running well.

“We just are happy about coming to Dover,” he added. “We run good here and it is a great track for us. We have worked hard all season to make our way back up to the top-10 in points. That is where we really want to be and we are focused on continuing to move up and run well and get good finishes."
