A NASCAR doubleheader at Richmond International Raceway headlines the weekend of racing with the IZOD IndyCar Series, NHRA, ARCA, World of Outlaws and AMA Supercross also in action.

The .75-mile Richmond track is set to host both the Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series under the lights on Friday and Saturday night. The events will be the ninth race of the season for both divisions and the first of two visits to RIR in 2011 with a September return on the schedule.

Carl Edwards is on top of the Sprint Cup standings while Justin Allgaier and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are tied for the Nationwide Series lead.

Things kick off on Friday with practice and qualifying for both divisions including Sprint Cup Series time trials, which are set for 5:35 p.m. (ET).

Friday night the Nationwide Series takes to the track for the Bubba Burger 250, which will take the green flag at 7:30 p.m. (ET). Motor Racing Network's live coverage will begin at 7 p.m. (ET).

On Saturday the Sprint Cup Series will take center stage for the Crown Royal Presents the Matthew and Daniel Hansen 400. Motor Racing Newtork's live coverage will kick off at 6:30 p.m. (ET). will have comprehensive coverage from Richmond including late-breaking news, results, statistics, features, photos, audio, video and post-race analysis.

Elsewhere in the racing world the IZOD IndyCar Series returns to action in Brazil for Sunday’s Itaipava São Paulo Indy 300. Will Power won last year’s inaugural event through the streets of Sao Paulo.

The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series heads to Houston Raceway Park for the O’Reilly Spring Nationals. Final round eliminations are set for Sunday afternoon.

The ARCA Racing Series travels to the high banks of Indiana’s Salem Speedway for Sunday’s running of the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200. It will mark the season’s first short track race of the year.

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series has a Saturday night date at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana.

And the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series rolls into Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on Saturday night.
