Sunday’s Kobalt Tools 500 at PIR is the penultimate race of the 2010 Sprint Cup Series season with Denny Hamlin now on top of the standings by 33 points over Jimmie Johnson with Kevin Harvick third only 59 behind.
Hamlin, who finished 30th in April’s Phoenix race when he started only one week after undergoing ACL knee surgery, scored his eighth win of the year last week in Texas to take over the series point lead.
Johnson has four career wins at Phoenix including the last three fall races while Harvick swept both PIR events in 2006.
MotorRacingNetwork.com will be trackside at Phoenix all weekend to bring you the latest directly from PIR beginning with Friday’s qualifying session for the Kobalt Tools 500 at 5:45 p.m. ET.
Friday night the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series tackles the one-mile desert oval for the Lucas Oil 150. Todd Bodine can clinch the 2010 series championship with a finish of fourth or better in the event which will take the green flag at 8 p.m. ET. MRN Radio's coverage will begin at 7:45 p.m. ET.
Saturday afternoon the Nationwide Series takes center stage for the running of the WyPall 200. MRN will carry the race live beginning at 4 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile the 2010 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing titles in all four national divisions will be decided in the Auto Club of Southern California Nationals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.
