KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Stewart-Haas Racing announced that ExxonMobil has signed a multi-year sponsorship with the team and will be a co-primary sponsor of Tony Stewart's No. 14 Chevrolet beginning in 2011.

Mobil 1, which has been the Official Motor Oil of NASCAR since 2003, will replace Old Spice, who will be leaving the team at the end of the season.

"To have a company of this caliber believe in Stewart-Haas Racing and believe in our program and what we're trying to accomplish, personally, it feels great for me," Stewart said. "Just having their confidence and their support and knowing that we have a partner that has such a great ability to make our program that much better is exciting. It's an exciting time for us.”

Stewart's No. 14 will have new paint schemes with the red, white, blue and black Mobil 1 colors being carried on the hood of the car for 11 races. Mobil 1 will also be an associate sponsor when the red and black colors of Office Depot take over as the primary sponsor.

The new partnership will see ExxonMobil provide Mobil 1 lubricant technology and engineering support to the team and will not affect the alliance they have with Hendrick Motorsports, which uses Quaker State in their cars.

"We'll continue to have a relationship with Hendrick Motorsports, receiving world class engines as we have for the past two seasons," said Bobby Hutchens, Director of Competition, Stewart-Haas Racing.

"We have a technology agreement between ourselves and Mobil 1," Hutchens continued. "And we have a technology group here led by Matt Borland, who will be working hand in hand with the folks at Mobil 1 in their R&D department. And from that, those proprietary combinations and whatnot that we will be using here will be done at Stewart-Haas only, in our engines, in our cars.

"And that technology will be proprietary to us. At the same time, we have to respect the proprietary information that HMS has also. So all of our cars next season will be running with Mobil 1 oil."

Stewart's teammate Ryan Newman will be reunited with Mobil 1 in an associate role after he drove for the brand at Penske Racing. Although Tornados and the U.S. Army will return with Newman in 2011, the team is still seeking additional associate sponsors for the No. 39.

Mobil 1 moves to SHR after 19 years with Penske Racing, which will see sponsorship from Shell-Pennzoil in 2011.
