Biffle Seeking Showdown Win

CONCORD, N.C. - Greg Biffle finds himself in an unfamiliar situation in this weekend's All-Star race. For the first time in seven years Biffle will have to race into the main event or count on the fan vote.

Biffle, who has been locked out of Victory Lane since Dover in 2008, will join his Roush Fenway teammates Carl Edwards and David Ragan in Saturday's Sprint Showdown.

"We were obviously planning to have a win by now so that we would not have to race our way into the All-Star race but that hasn’t happened so we will do everything we can this weekend to make sure we race our way in," Biffle said.

In Biffle's previous six starts in the All-Star race he's only scored one top 10, which was a runner-up finish in 2008. Four of his starts have resulted in DNF's, including last season when he finished 21st.

This weekend, Biffle will not only have the help of his crew in the pits, but they will also be on the car with a Pit Bulls logo. The name for the pit crew was chosen by the team after 3M held a contest to name the crew.

"It would be cool to win the Showdown in the 3M Pit Bulls car and then take it to victory lane for the guys," Biffle said. "I know they’re pretty excited about that paint scheme and they should be."

Biffle also announced he would donate a portion of his All-Star race earnings to Friends of the Animals if he gets voted into the race.
