The opening weekend of April is jam-packed with racing action including a NASCAR doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway, the season-opener for the Indy Racing League, Formula One, the NHRA, ARCA and the World of Outlaws also all on track.

The mile-and-a-half Texas Motor Speedway hosts NASCAR's top two divisions this weekend with Sunday's Sprint Cup Series Samsung 500 race number seven of the 2009 season.

Roush Fenway Racing's Carl Edwards, winless so far in 2009, swept both races at the track a year ago.

Jeff Gordon, who leads the series point standings, will try to score his first career win at TMS and end a 46-race winless streak in the process.

RacingOne's comprehensive coverage from Texas begins with Friday's Live Qualifying session for the Samsung 500 beginning at 4:40 p.m. ET.

Saturday afternoon the Nationwide Series takes center stage for the O'Reilly 300 which will take the green flag at 2:30 p.m. ET. ESPN and PRN will provide live television and radio coverage.

Sunday's Samsung 500 begins at 1:30 p.m. ET with FOX and PRN on the coverage.

RacingOne will have complete coverage from Texas all weekend long including late-breaking news, results, statistics, photos, audio, video and post-race analysis.

Elsewhere in the racing world the 2009 Indy Racing League season begins Sunday in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg begins the second year of the post open wheel world merger between the IRL and the Champ Car World Series. The race also ushers in a new television era for the league with the Versus Network carrying the bulk of this year's schedule. The green flag flies Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.

Race number two of the 2009 Formula One Season is set with the Grand Prix of Malaysia. The upstart Brawn-Mercedes team will look to follow its surprising win in Australia a week ago. SPEED will provide live coverage Sunday morning at 4:30 a.m. ET.

The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the site of this weekend's NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series SummitRacing.com Nationals. ESPN2 will provide final round coverage on Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. ET.

The ARCA RE/MAX Series short track season begins Sunday at Indiana's historic Salem Speedway with the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200.
