Harvick Keeps Streak Alive

Kevin Harvick made the biggest gain in the standings at Dover International Speedway after he captured a sixth-place finish in the Camping World RV 400 for his eighth consecutive top 10 of the season.

Not only did Harvick's top 10 streak stay in tact, but the run at Dover extended his modern era record of running-at-the-finish to 72 races. The last time Harvick recorded a DNF was at the 2006 fall Dover race when the No. 29 Chevrolet lost an engine.

"The Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet was awesome," Harvick said about his car at Dover. "I think we only made a few minor adjustments on it during the race. I am just really proud of all my guys and I really think we still have the momentum to win this thing."

With consistency the key in the Chase, Harvick's average finish of 6.1 in the last eight races, and 8.0 in the last two Chase events, have helped put him within 101 points of leader Carl Edwards.

"We have been scattered in the top five and solid in the top 10 and we just have to keep that up and knock some top-fives off as the Chase goes on," Harvick said.

The last time Harvick and crew chief Todd Berrier visited victory lane came in the 2007 Daytona 500.

"We can see them, but that ain't quite good enough," Berrier said. "We need to win a race. But if you can run 10th or 6th, or 5th, you can win a race. That's what you've got to do. You've got to crawl before you can walk. I think we are consistently a lot better and looking for a little something to take that next step."

This weekend Harvick will look to extend the streak at Kansas Speedway where he finished sixth last season.
